# Help. Plex forcing relay/transcoding on home network

My plex was running great unwil a few weeks ago.
Ive noticed my subtitles no longer work on plex on my firestick.
On deeper investigation it seems my media is being transcoded through the [plex relay](https://support.plex.tv/articles/216766168-accessing-a-server-through-relay/).
On my desktop server it says remote access is enabled. But that shouldn’t even be an issue on my home network.
Im at a loss. Hoping someone can help.

Maybe it’s worth to take a look at this post in the tips & tricks section to verify why Plex might consider your server remote.

What IP address does the server have and what does the client have?

Spent an hour with chat GPT and got sorted.
Had some leftover remnants from a nord vpn installation which was messing with my settings.
