# Help Plex server showing no libraries

So long story short I decided to move the plex media server folder from app data in the windows OS disk to my Raid where all my content is. I did update the location of the files for plex and moved everything but each time I launch plex it just creates a newfolder in that location and completely ignore all his past files.

I tried putting everything inside the folder it created but still no luck

1. the location of the Plex data folder must support ‘symbolic links’ (or ‘hardlinks’ on Windows). Many drive pooling technologies and file systems don’t do that. On Windows, always use a **local** hard disk, formatted with the **NTFS** file system.

2. the input field ‘The path where local application data is stored’ must **not** have `\Plex Media Server` as its last part. That is always added internally. 3. Did you make sure to shut down Plex before copying/moving the data? (and with shutting down I don’t mean merely closing the web browser window). Otherwise your database file might be corrupted.

ok number 1 doesnt apply I’m fixing 2 as we speak moving everything back to the original location to see if it works. I tried with sql lite to check for corruotion and it returned just an ok tried restoring the library with the procedure but like it didnt do anything or maybe I did something wrong

ok everything its back I just had to use another database backup not my latest looks like my latest backup got screwed
