Help! Plex won't link to my Tidal account

I’ve got Plex on a Synology NAS DS218. The NAS natively hosts a Plex app. I have a Tidal subscription which I would like to link to my vanilla Plex account. It used to be linked and it used to work before some mysterious H4 error message appeared. Now, Plex doesn’t work with Tidal on my Mac (Catalina, Safari), my phone or my iPad.

Attempted solution on Mac.

  1. Click Account/Other Services/Tidal Account Linked (‘Re-authorise’ or ‘unlink your account’
  2. When I return to Plex and click on Music Tidal, all there is is a page inviting me to sign up to tidal. I’m not linked despite multiple cheery emails from Plex announcing (fake news) ‘Hooray! You’ve linked Tidal and Plex!’. These don’t help my mood, haha!
  3. I’ve done too many install uninstall of everything to give a clear picture of my actions (my bad).

Upshot is I’m, baffled and nowhere. Tidal apps work on all devices but I need Plex for chrome casting.

Correction: Plex works, it’s my Tidal account that isn’t working on Plex

There has been a problem with linking Tidal accounts. See the status page: https://status.plex.tv/
(Looks like everything should be going back to normal soon)
