# \[Help\]Skip Trickplay Scanning

I have trickplay (BIF) files from another applicaiton alongside my media files.  
Ideally, Plex could just use those, but that is a seperate request 😅

I have a .plexignore file in my main library folder and a copy of it inside of each movie/show folder.  
They look like this:

#Ignore TrickPlay Folders
/*trickplay
trickplay/
trickplay
/.trickplay
.trickplay/
*.trickplay
.trickplay

#Ignore directories
$RECYCLE.BIN/*
$RECYCLE.BIN
320 - 10x10
320 - 10x10/*
320 - 10x10/
/320 - 10x10/*
/320 - 10x10/

```

Generally, the structure is:  
#Movies  
Media Library Folder \ .plexignore  
Media Library Folder \ Movie (year) \ mediafile (year).mkv  
Media Library Folder \ Movie (year) \ .plexignore  
Media Library Folder \ Movie (year) \ mediafile (year).trickplay \ 320 - 10x10 \ {BIF Jpeg files}  
#Shows

Media Library Folder \ .plexignore  
Media Library Folder \ Show \ mediafile SxxExx Title.mkv

Media Library Folder \ Show \ .plexignore  
Media Library Folder \ Show \ mediafile SxxExx Title.trickplay \ 320 - 10x10 \ {BIF Jpeg files}

Plex seems to still scan trickplays folders that are inside of the movie/show folders.  
Any suggestions or is it a lost cause to keep Plex from scanning the subfolder trickplay folders?
