Hi,

I just bought an Apple TV 3 and I've done my best to follow the install guide but to no avail. Can someone help me? I'm not that computer savvy but have been trying for hours to figure this out (I have consulted the forums already).

Thanks,

Joel

The DNS on your Apple TV should be the same as the ip of your host machine.

Is that the Public IP Address or the Local IP Address?

Ok, so I should enter 192.168.0.2 as the Local Address.

As for where to put the PlexConnect zip, I put in my Library (/Users/jochapma/Library) and then unzipped it and ran the terminal commands. Did I do anything wrong there?

This is what I did for mine. I extracted the files to my desktop and ran it from there. The DNS on your Apple TV should be 192.168.0.2 and you should be able to connect.

Just as a matter of principle I would avoid putting random files into any Library Folder on your Apple computer.

Hi,

I'm also having major issues getting plexconnect to work - I'm sure it's something very simple I've overlooked, but any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. Here's the required info:

- Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings \> general \> about \> Apple TV software):

- The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings \> general \> network \> DNS):

- The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on:

- The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on:

- The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:

- The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (\*\*do not put 'latest'\*\*):

- The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:

- The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one.

- The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file (if you do not have this file you are running an old version, please update)

- Logfile link: [http://pastebin.com/9kYChBaW](http://pastebin.com/9kYChBaW)

- I have changed the port that my IIS runs on to deconflict that

- Issue is that the DNS does not seem to be passing through traffic - once ATV was restarted I get just the 2 icons as if it were not connected to the internet - prior to that, no content was available after plexconnect install on any native app (ie movies / tv shows) or netflix

I'm completely stumped as have tried everything I can think of!

Thanks

Gingerbrammers

Don't know if there is a difference, is there?

Do you have another computer in the network? What happens if you browse from there to 192.168.2.100:80?

You should get a PlexConnect error response 403.

I have no idea, how to check the DNS port, though...
