Hiding Genre in Plexamp Artists view?

Is it possible to hide the auto-generated Genre (“Pop/Rock”, “Rap”, etc.) that appears under the artist name in the Plexamp Artists view?

Incidentally, where is this information coming from? For some artists, it is absent.

NB: this has nothing to do with searching or tagging; I would just prefer not to see it.

That’s the Genre which is present on the Artist. in Plex.
And no, you cannot disable it in Plexamp.

Are these artist-level genre(s) pulled in by last.fm?

Thanks, and bummer. Is there a preferred way to request this (seems like it would be easy to implement)?

Unclear - the picture seems to come from last.fm, but not sure where the Genre is being pulled from. See e.g.

for which Plex has “International” for both Genre and Style.

You can always edit the database directly and remove the genres for all artists in the metadata_items table at once, it’ll take you one minute.

I mean, it won’t mean that they won’t get re-populated on the next “refresh metadata”, but at least you’re done until then.

Standard disclaimer: make backups before you do this.

Thanks!
