I am an early lifetime pass member. I know many of us are very unhappy with your changes to the clients. You need to stop and reverse course or risk a repeat of Sonos leadership replacement from customer exits. I am considering leaving Plex and taking as many with me as I can. You need to put your customers first and not make our experience with your products worse.

I left because of this.

What is the issue though? I’m not following what people say about classic and changes without specifics. I have been using plex for years and can’t really tell the difference.

Sure I’ve noticed some changes to the UI and the application on iOS. But nothing that is in a negative way. Some things are missing though, like the ability to set IPv6 only for remote streaming but allow IPv4 within the LAN so clients that can’t do IPv6 or its not enabled in the plex client can still continue to work without headaches. but these things are minor design and technical flaws that should have been picked up from the start, and it has major impact on those who turn on IPv6 only and then find themselves in a debug hunt that might be over their heads.

This is just an example, but since you haven’t stated any specifics, maybe this scenario applies to you as well but within another category?

The new interface on Android TV is awefully slow !
10+ seconds to start a movie. The menu is a mess, you need to enter 2 differents menus to delete a file.
Conclusion: Slow + not user friendly… I’ll stop using Plex if it’s not improving soon

Speed/Lag is probably one of the most annoying. The subreddits on Plex list many complaints based on the platform. I also personally hate the new closed caption changes on Android TV. I also find sweeping changes on the interface should be done as customization options rather than forced change.

The old player just worked, and that was it. There were minor flaws, but you could live with them. But who built _this_? Why? Did they have nothing better to do?

Before, you could switch to the next episode in two clicks. What am I supposed to do now? I still haven’t figured it out! So, the episode finishes, the credits start rolling, I press the down arrow—and what do I see? Some list of chapters! I’m at the end of the f\*\*\*ing episode, why the hell do I need a chapter list? Who even uses that?

And then what? Down again—and what’s there? Episode thumbnails. And what is anyone supposed to understand from that? Am I supposed to remember which episode I’m currently on? The first thumbnail isn’t even an episode, it’s the whole “show”? Why? Who asked for this? Who on earth thought it was a good idea to mess everything up like this?

It’s like getting into a car, and instead of a gear stick, there’s a damn menu. And you have to select your gear from a menu, then press “OK” to shift. Got new designers? Did Claude code this? Wasn’t it enough to just add “trendy” rounded corners to everything? Did you have to overhaul the whole thing just to make the user lose their mind?

Before, the audio track used to display its actual name, and now it just says “ac3 stereo”—what’s the point of that? Do you think the user gives a damn about the compression type? You think they don’t need to know the dubbing team, but they _do_ need to know the codec? Why?

Whoever made this, bring him here, I want to ask him: WTF, programmer, tell me, why did you vibe-code it like this? Who taught you? Where have you ever seen this done? Did you ask the users? Did this just pop into your head after an extra cup of coffee, or whatever the hell you drank?

Explain to me, please, WHY make things more complicated? What is the outcome supposed to be? Why should a user have to press more buttons? Why make them swear and think, “How the f\*\*\* do I find where to switch the audio track???”

And as for the fact that it lags beyond belief, just doesn’t work, hangs there—probably calculating the trajectory of a starship in a binary system… It’s just mind-boggling how you can completely break everything out of nowhere like that!
