# How do I replace missing metadata only

How can I refresh missing metadata only? I know Jellyfin gives you the choice to update missing or all metadata. I don’t want to update all metadata as I have set some posters to my preference.

If you have set a poster to be a specific one, refreshing the metadata shouldn’t change it, according to Plex.

You could also just download the poster and save it as a file named “poster.jpg” or “folder.jpg” in the folder for the movie/show.
