On a FireCube, how do you change episode display from list to thumbnail? and/or default server to display all the same?

Thereâs no such option in any of the âBig Screenâ apps I know / have tested.
Thatâs odd, this just started recently. Some seasons of the same show display one way, and other seasons display the other but it is not even consistent across devices. I never saw this list view before, but it seems one by one all my TV series are slowly switching over to it. I REALLY hate it as you can not keep track of what has and has not been watched.
Check the âAdvancedâ options for the library, or show by 'Editâing same.
There is a default display state - and one of them may be what you want.
By Default Plex DVR âCollapsesâ single season shows - wherein it will only show the episodes, not the Season Poster - then the episodes. That may be what you want.
You can set the display type for your entire library - or for each show.
(you can fiddle with a show - then if you find success - you can apply that to the entire library)
Take a look at that and see what you come up with.
That has nothing to do with the OPâs question.
This is about list view vs. grid view / poster wall
Under advanced there are no display options for the episodes.
I have no option for a default display state.
I do not use Plex DVR at all, and these are programs with multiple episodes in multiple seasons. Some seasons will display one way and other seasons of the same program different way, and differently on different devices.
None of that has anything to do with my problem. In the web admin on the server, click on the 9 small squares in the upper right hand corner. There you can choose grid view, list view or summery view. On my Firecube, some seasons are set to list view and there is no option to change them back to grid view. Changing the view on the server has no effect on what the Firecube (or iPad) sees.
I seeâŠ
No, it wonât.
Thatâs an app function - and it might be buggy ATM - as in itâs not there to change.
A Hail Mary at this point is to uninstall/reinstall the app - and hope for the best.
A very recent Android update may have cured it - but weâll have to wait for it find itâs way to the mosh pit - where FireTV Users live.
The app doesnât have a list view. Can you take a picture?
I will take one tonight.
Thatâs my issue, there is no list view available but that is what it is showing. Since there is no menu option to select the view, I canât change it back.
I figured out what you are seeing. @JuiceWSA was right above with his screenshot. This has to do with the option to hide the season views. The app was never good at handling hiding the seasons. This is what you will see now with that option enabled. This bring up another bug I found. If you change the setting to show seasons and it is still only 1 season, things get wacky.
Well, if we can cure âWackyâ - letâs do itâŠ
Iâve already filed an issue with the team to better handle single seasons.
This is what I am seeing. Star Blazers did show the thumbnail view until recently as did the Persuaders. The Pursuaders is now showing this way, without even the titles any longer. I completely uninstalled the app and purged all cache, etc. I also removed the series from Plex server and re-added them again, it made no difference. Really frustrating.
OK, I was screwing around with it, took all series that where having an issue out of the plex server and refreshed. Uninstalled the app again and purged it. Rebooted the server, readded the series. Reinstaleed the app and relinked my device. At first the issue was still there, but then after a few minutes the display went back to what I was used to. No idea what caused it, or what actually fixed it but it is back to ânormalâ now.
How 'bout a pic of âwhat youâre used toââŠ
Yep - the above/above - is quite ignernt.
Glad you got whatever it was - fumigated.
