Hi all
I have loads of videos of our new baby which were recorded in full HD but in portait format. The issue is that they are all stretched wide when played back through any player.
How can I fix this?
Cheers
Matt.

By updating to the newest server release.
I will give that a try tomorrow as my server version should update automatically. Must be a massive coincidence as I’ve had this problem for a while and never thought to post it until now!
This hasn’t worked properly. My primary device still has an issue, even when choosing to transcode so the latest update hasn’t fixed anything for me.
Samsung TV (primary)- complains of unsupported resolution
PS4 (secondary)- plays sound but no video
iPhone- appears to work fine
Ipad- appears to work fine
Is this still a known issue?

might be this https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/277675/impossible-to-play-1920x1080-portrait-videos

Sorry, I have no experience with this client.
I understand that the TV cannot support the resolution as the thread says. However, as the last poster on that thread says, shouldn’t the transcoder take care of that?
I have optimised all of my problematic videos to “Universal TV” which is basically a manual way of transcoding and now they all work on all platforms. Not the best solution as it means doubling the space I’m using but at least it works.
