# HTTPAPI URL?

Hello,  
  
  
  
Simple question that I can’t find the answer to by Googling or random guessing.  
  
  
  
What’s the URL for the HTTPAPI for Plex?  
  
  
  
The XBMC wiki has a page documenting this - [http://www.xbmc.org/wiki/?title=Web\_Server\_HTTP\_API](http://www.xbmc.org/wiki/?title=Web_Server_HTTP_API) - which gives URLs of the form [http://xbox/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=whatever](http://xbox/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=whatever) but I can’t find the equivalent for plex. Plugging in my IP in place of “xbox” doesn’t work, neither does http://[myIP]/~[myUsername]. I have web sharing turned on.

Hi!  
  
It is (for example changing the volume):  
  
http://[Plex\_Box\_IP]:3000/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=setvolume&parameter=50  
  
or  
  
http://[Plex\_Box\_Mac\_Name]:3000/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=setvolume&parameter=50  
  
  
  
Web Server needs to be running in Plex, you can change the settings for this under Preferences \> Network \> Servers
