# HW transcoding - deinterlace

Would be great if the HW transcoder could be upgraded to perform hardware deinterlace. The current HW transcoding preview works great on DVR’d 720P MPEG2 content but chokes on 1080i. It’d be awesome to be able to use HW transcoding for live tv/DVR.
