Hello,
recently i have noticed that my plex server is not using hardware transcoding anymore, no matter which type of video content i want to play. This way even watching a 576p MPEG2 Video that has to be transcoded into h264 for the web app, my CPU gets 100% utilized and the transcoding is still very slow.
It seems like it’s the exactly same issue as je1117 already wrote in this Post:
Unfortunately it has been closed a few days ago so i couldn’t reply to it. Like in this post, i have also just noticed it very recently because i wasn’t playing a lot of videos and i usually don’t install updates very often. My server is running on an i5-4570T which has the same iGPU but less cores, so it makes the software transcoding even slower. I also had to install version 1.41.5.9522 for the hw transcoding to work again, i tried a few other versions inbetween but anything newer would not.
I hope this gets fixed again in a newer version. I also don’t know if it only affects this specific iGPU or maybe others too.
