First of all thank you for your response and help!

Yes, I added this as temporary directory in Plex Settings. Should I remove this? Should I delete this and let it blank?

If I delete and reinstall the Plex Server on the Syno, will the Library be deleted too?

Thank you.

I deleted the entry for Transcoder temporary directory, removed Plex and reinstalled the new Version.

The HW Transcoder still not work and CPU is over 90% when playing.

Yes I have.

It worked fine until the Update today…

This is the Log File:
The XML Text will not open in Safari (Mac OS)… is this very important? then I will download Chrome and try it again?

You want the displayed XML File, but on Safari AND Google Chrome it just open a new empty Window without something on it…
Do you want the text File as Document?

Yes I know, I now searched this in the Forum  but it won’t display at my Mac… It just open an empty Window… I’ll try on Windows now…

Thank you. Hope this is right  [

Okay thank you very much.

I know the Name is not a proper Name, the newer ones are most with Year  but I couldn’t do it for all the Movies until now…

Thank you, I used Rename Master most of Time (I like it for Series for proper Names with S01E01).
But I’ll try Filebot too.

Hey @ApollonCollection

Trumpy asked me to poke my nose in

I use FileBot as well. I can specify the {s00e00} syntax as well.
My template is /nas/tv/{n}/Season {s.pad(2)}/{n} - {s00e00} - {t} so I get it all nice.

As for the transcoding failure

  1. I checked the new beta package. Everything is in there. I grabbed it and unpacked it here on my workstation.

[chuck@lizum lib.30]$ ls dri
i965_drv_video.so* iHD_drv_video.so*
[chuck@lizum lib.31]$

In the directory /var/packages/Plex Media Server/target/lib/dri is where the drivers are.

In looking at your logs, I think i see what’s happening and will go experiment now.

I noticed you called out for the VaapiDriver="i965" and it went to get it,

/volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/lib/dri/i965_drv_video.so

but didn’t find it.

I’m confused at:

0] ERROR - [Transcode] [FFMPEG] - libva: dlopen of /volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/lib/dri/i965_drv_video.so failed: libdrm_intel.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

This is what I will research / experiment with now and report back shortly.

I’ve replicated the problem.

Because you’re using a J3xxx CPU, you can try removing VaapiDriver="i965" to confirm it also now works for you.

I’ve alerted Engineering already about this in a trouble report.

@ApollonCollection

Thanks for reporting this. We’ve identified what is missing. Now to find where it broke and fix. At least we know what we’re looking for (makes this one easy to track down)

Thank you very much for your help @ChuckPaI I think I’ll maybe wait for a new Update? I didn’t find the VaapiDriver file to remove… so I’ll wait… thank you and thanks to @trumpy81 too

Just weighing in to say i’m also having this issue with the 1.20.2.3343 beta on my Synology DS920+ where on previous builds HW transcoding was working (with the i965 pref fix obviously).

@arsenal I removed the Plex Media Server from my Syno and installed the 1.20.1.3252 Version from the Plex Page (non Beta / older Version). Now HW transcode works again…

@Arsenal

Go back to Public release.

Thanks guys, I did of course revert - just thought I’d add feedback in case it helped to see the issue was more widespread.

Does 1.20.2.3370 fix this?
