Hi!

While I was browsing my movie database looking for a nice one to watch I noticed the rating of each movie in the right corner of my screen(PC). The movie I was looking at had 4 out of 5 stars. I thought this has to be a good movie but at the same time it didn’t really mean much to me. I wondered where the rating came from and how many users rated this movie. So in the interest of good movie ratings I would much rather see the IMDB rating then 5 stars. The actual number from the IMDB site may be too direct so together with the star-rating principle I think would be perfect. A header with “IMDB rating” would also be very welcome so people know where this rating is coming from.

Thank you!

I recall an unofficial imdb scraper somewhere in the forums.

Hi!

The star rating you see in Plex is a representation of a number between 0 and 10, rounded to .5

So 5 stars = 10; 4.5 stars = 9; 4 stars = 8; etc.

I personally don’t care for these ratings (if a movie is in my library, there’s a good reason for it being there, no matter if it has just 1 star, or 5) but you may want to check out other skins that display the rating as a number.

With the default set of metadata agents, the ratings for movies usually comes from [TheMovieDB](http://www.themoviedb.org/).

Not sure where this is getting its data from, but they use a field labeled 'imdbRating' for rating.

Sorry but I do not agree, first of all because I share my server with friends and they don't know all the movies I have(I agree with you on the part that there are no movies in my library that aren't worth watching, for myself, but still an IMDB rating says a lot about the quality of the film, as those have thousands of votes). Second, all of my movies are rated with 4 or 5 stars, whether they're good or bad. So if almost every movie has the same amount of stars what's the point of have ratings in the corner of my screen in the first place. I mean it doesn't add information in this way.

I hope you don't see this as too much critic, I'm just trying to help making a better plex ;)

I'm going to give the plugin a try, but I still think an IMDB rating as default would be great! :D
