Mseeley, who do your talk to regarding this fix? And why do you think it is on sony? How do you know that? I have a similar problem with lower definition videos, but I also have a vertical line down the right side of the scree where the incorrect aspect ratio side ends. I can live with a odd aspect ratio, but the line is typical for this ht setup of mine, never perfect, always something. I am opening a thread regarding the line.

Plex is apparently stuck using Sony's codec, which is a bit of a nightmare situation for an app like this. When the Crunchyroll app hit PS3 they had to reencode their entire library to play nice with Sony's codec.
Thank you, Androvsky, for the information, but sounds discouraging and typical of sony. The plex app would make the ps4 relevant in our house almost like the ps3 was. Isn' t that the point, sony?? Hopefully sony get a clue and realize the importance of helping these apps work. My wife is giving me looks for the xbox for the next tomb raider game. I am looking for a one stop device like the ps3, go figure.
I picked up a PS4 yesterday, was excited to try out Plex, but ran into this same issue :( Hoping a fix comes soon! Good to know it isn't something weird on my end, at least.
Any word on an update for this, mseeley? What's even weirder is that when I run a movie with its AAC stereo audio track, the aspect ratio is fine, but when I change to the 5.1 AC3 track, it stretches. I'd rather use plex on PS4, but I'm stuck using DLNA on my PS3.
Just subscribed to the plex pass today so I can use plex on my PS4 but I'm getting this same issue. Looks like it's a long running issue.
