I’ve recently rebuilt my server and now have problems with one PC thats attached to the network showing server unavailable or indirect connection.

I have 2 PC’s, 1 Server and 1 firestick all on a private network with DHCP from the ISP’s router, one PC and the Firestick work as expected but one PC doesn’t

Remote accessis happy and works, the PC that cannot see plex properly has drives mapped to the server and a working remote desktop connection to that machine.

I have reset network config, updated drivers and replace the lan cable with one from the working PC,

Everything is up to date, windows, drivers,plex, firmware so now I am stuck

indirect connections imply this is a remote connection and some hiccup/issue with the remote access setup itself.

so… if this is supposed to be a local connection → review your network setup, e.g. if devices are on the same subnet
if the connection is actually remote → [The Basics of Remote Access Troubleshooting](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-basics-of-remote-access-troubleshooting/769517)

network setup appears fine,
DHCP from ISP router
IP address 192,168,0,25 works
IP address 192.168.0.26 doesnt
Same DNS, Same gateway,same workgroup,same subnet,Private network, working Lan cable as swapped with working PC, reset router,rebooted all machines starting with the server and waiting until Plex is running before rebooting the rest
PC that cannot see plex has drives mapped to server and can remote desktop to server fine,
remote access says its working but I cant get my mobile to sign in, definately the right details and tried reseting the password a few days ago so I havent been able to actually test it

If relay is disabled on the server it refuses to connect at all

That’s to be expected if the client is treated to have a remote connection and the remote access setup is borked.

</div>

But the client shouldn’t be a remote connection, its on the same network as the other PC with the same network settings.

</div>

And the feedback in your previous post underlines that… but still… something in this setup makes Plex see that device as remote.

Some routers have additional network segmentation mechanisms… could be as simple as one of the devices using a „guest“ access.

Is the network connection classified as “private” on both machines? It sounds as if it isn’t on the second machine.
Any 3rd-party anti virus or firewall apps or VPNs in use?

Both machines are private, no 3rd party anti virus,firewall or VPN, no windows defender on server.

All worked until I replaced the server hardare a few weeks ago, Now 1 pc thinks it’s remote and my mobile refuses to sign into the Plex account and the library had to be adjusted from
Star Trek\Voyager\Season 01
\DS(\ Season 01
to
Star Trek Voyager\Season 01
Star Trek DS9\Season 01

Is the server on the same subnet as both devices?
What do you have configured in `Settings` \> `[Server Name]` \> `Network` \> `LAN networks` ?

It’s DNS. It’s always DNS.

I have 1 pc and one firestick on the same network gettting IP from the same DHCP server (the ISP router) and connected to the same switch (unmanged netgear) and router , (virgin media hub ) that work correctly, I have 1 pc that has a indirect connection and a mobile that won’t authenticate a user on Wifi or on Data (dfferent connection source and details)
I have tried a network reset , swapped the cables around, reinstalled networking and drivers on the problem PC and server
Everything is as upto date without beta’s

what else can I do to reset the DNS
