# Installing PMS on new machine kills internet connection

Server Version#: Latest via the download page
I just received a new mini pc (Geekom IT12) and have been moving over all my apps, docs, etc for it to be my main pc. I planned on using it as a new PLEX server as well. I have had two Plex servers running on my network before with no issues but when I install Plex on this new machine the network on the new machine gets unconnected. Only after uninstalling Plex and rebooting do things return to normal.
Is there any special networking that needs to be in place? Like I said I’ve done this before with no issues so I’m at a loss.

I don’t have the router mentioned in that fix. I’m on FIOS with their default router a Linksys I believe.
I’ve checked the router settings for any similar configuration related to security and don’t see anything related.

Thanks for that bit of info. Although I didnt have any restrictions I disabled that setting, started the server and got the welcome screen. I surely wouldn’t have ever thought to look there. Just to satisfy my curiosity I enabled it and the server was still working. So now I’m still confused 😕. Maybe toggling did something good.
I may just turn it off since all the settings set to allowed anyway.
