When I transfer a tv eposide using TheRenamer. I would then like a button on the plex web app under The Season listing that will scan just the directory that contain the other eposides OR it rescans the whole folder containing the TV Series. At the moment I have to wait and wait. Usually I end up watching on VLC. Is there a way to speed up when we know the location of where the file is we want added.

What version number is your PMS?
The most recent versions have greatly shortened the time it takes to do a scan, at least that is my experience.

Could we please make this request more general
In answer to hthighway's comment: that is still not good enough. It may be faster than before but it is still too long.
For example: I have a library section with circa 80,000 photos held within 600 folders. I just add a folder with 1000 photos to the Library Section. Only option is to scan the whole library section. This takes ages - relatively speaking. It is still going after 50 minutes and probably another 20 minutes to go. It has not even reached the new folder yet !!!
So please could we amend the request to have the following:
1. Introduce a scan option that identifies folders (so it only needs to find one media object in each new folder) and exit looking for more folders.
2. With the first feature in place, I want to be able to open that folder that has just been added with the super fast folder identification scan, and select refresh on that folder only
I do acknowledge that if there are nested folders i would have to refresh them each separately
