# Integrate with SmartThings

Plex should integrate with Smartthings so it can dim or turn off the lights when media is played.

Direct integration would be awesome, I’ve something that can do this for me, using the Plex Webhooks + IFTT to communicate with my SmartThings hub. I use it to dim lights in the room. I also know there is a project called [Plex Home Theatre Manager SmartApp](https://community.smartthings.com/t/release-plex-home-theatre-manager-smartapp/37415) which seems interesting but I have yet to set it up. Trying looking over on the SmartThings community for integration options.

My end game is to have a tablet on a wall, that rotates through some photos from Plex server, but when motion is detected at the front door (Smartthings) , switch the photo stream to the live camera stream.  
I know conceptually what to do…but have no idea how to go about it.
