I have a Plex Pass, lifetime, and I am wondering about the iOS app. I have a granddaughter that I share with who recently bought an iphone. She is being asked to pay a monthly fee for plex even though she is signing into my server where I am sharing all libraries with her. Is this right, or is she doing something wrong?

I am strictly an android guy and know nothing about Apple or their products.

Thanks,

john

The behaviour is correct.

The mobile apps either require a one-time fee for ‘activation’
or the plex user account under which they are running to have a Plex Pass.

Your granddaughter has neither.

You could [invite her into your Plex Home](https://support.plex.tv/articles/204234323-creating-a-plex-home/). This would unlock her phone app.
However, this would also activate [Fast User Switching](https://support.plex.tv/articles/204232453-fast-user-switching/), so that she can easily switch to your user level (and you to hers), unless you both set a 4-digit PIN.

Thanks for clearing that up. I know that I paid a one time fee when she got her phone and used Plex. That’s why I was wondering. If she paid that fee once, why would she be asked again.

I did set her up in my home account and with pins 🙂

Thank you,

john

If she has paid already, she can ‘restore’ her purchase.
**If** she is using the same AppleID as before, when she bought the app originally.
