iOS Camera Upload Waiting

ios

#1

Hello,

I recently turned on Camera Upload after purchasing Plex Pass. It is always in a constant state of "Preparing to Upload." Whether having it on upload auto or not, the same process seems to happen. It will go to start uploading, then immediately stop and no files are getting to my server. It's never completed successfully nor do I see the connection being initiated in my server logs. This is the same using both Wifi only and cellular options as well.

This is happening on both iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7. Both are running most recent iOS (10.2) with Plex iOS (4.6.1).

Please advise.

I am having the same problem since a year. Good luck.

I was instructed my Plex General Support to post iOS logs. Here's my iOS log. Hopefully someone can make sense of it. I see NoSQL exception although I couldn't say as to why that would be popping up. I don't even know if its the cause of my issue.

Enclosed are additional logs directly from iOS device with the same issue taking place.

Plex Support - please help!

#7

Since initial post Plex app has been updated to 4.7.0 which exhibits the same issue.

I have the same issue and I found that if you change the folder that is set up to upload the photos to a new one, it will start working again. It’s really annoying. Anyone found a fix for this?

#9

I see this got marked as answered but unfortunately I’m still having the same issue. I tried the answer above by ryan810cows but still no joy. Any other thoughts from plex support??? Same issue on both iPhones in my home

I am having this same issue. Initially, when I set this to upload my iPhone pictures to my QNAP NAS hosting Plex Server, it started working just fine. About 40 images were uploaded before it stopped working. Since then, I have not been able to get it to upload any more photos. I have tried selecting turning Camera Upload off and back on again. I have also reset Camera upload. Neither seemed to help. The application states "Waiting to upload".

Please see this post on the same topic:
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/293447/camera-upload-is-stuck-on-waiting-to-upload/p1

You may have to:
- Disable Update My Library Automatically
- Delete any files in the temporary upload folder
- Restart your Plex Media Server
- Reconfigure or restart Camera Upload on the iPhone client
