Your metadata area under “Plex Media Server” got damaged.

It would be very helpful if we can turn DEBUG logging back on.
If you would please do the following:
Stop Plex
Using the PlexData shared folder again in FileStation
Edit “Preferences.xml”
ADD the preference LogDebug="1" to the last line before the closing />
It will look like SomeOtherPref="Value" LogDebug="1" />
@ChuckPa here you go. Not sure how the metadata got damaged, though.
I could always uninstall plex again, then go in via SSH and manually delete /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer and then reinstall it. That would allow it to fully recreate that directory and all of its content. Let me know if you think that would make sense. FYI I’m a web developer with loads of linux and shell experience, so no need to dumb anything down for me.
Well it looks like that has caused some progress. Looking at the logs after the restart, it’s no longer complaining about the Plug-ins folder not existing. However, when I try to open it up, it still will not load and just sits there forever still.

There are processes still open.
For as painful as is on QNAP, now might be a good time to restart and let it come up fresh
Ugh, that figures. I had done that a couple of times already, but not since making these changes/fixes you suggested, so here we go again. I’ll send logs again if it still isn’t working after the restart. Thanks for all your help with this by the way!
Ok finally it’s working again! Annoyingly I now have to completely reconfigure it and have it re-scan ALL my content and probably fix a bunch of art etc. Oh well, things happen.
Thanks very much for your help troubleshooting this! I don’t think I would have figured that one out on my own.
After I updated my TVS-872XT to the latest QTS 5…0.0.1858 I have been having stability issues with PMS ( Version 1.25.0.5282).
It seems that the service becomes unresponsive many times a day and I need to then stop the PMS and start it again. This all started when I updated to new firmware from QNAP.
Is this something you have heard about?
I found another thread with the same problem it seems - Plex stops running on QNap - #24 by chrisonplex
In the thread you linked they are saying that with latest 5.0.0 and PMS 1.25 everything is working after restarting the PMS and the QNAP it self.
Have you tried that?
P.S.: I have upgraded my self PMS to version 1.25 and remaining with QTS 4.5
Now my Plex webpage is not loading anymore, screen remains white loading indefinitely like if its waiting for the server to respond…
Is it normal due to some internal PMS updates or whatever?
Thank you.
PMS was crashing for me randomly and I had to do a stop & start for it to work again. And sometimes the Qnap becomes unresponsive and the fans go on full speed. Then all I can do is do a hard reboot.
I have downgraded to 4.5 and now everything is working normally.
Yes.
Left it alone yesterday after having stopped and restarted PMS after updating to 1.25 as it was not responding, and today it is still not showing me any interface if I try to access at it from hitting Open on the PMS from AppCenter…
