I’m having problems with Plex for Android Auto. I’ve searched the forums and others have problems too and have reported it. However, no one ever responds to anyone having troubles with this. Is anyone from Plex actually monitoring? Is there a way to really submit a report?

In particular my issue is: Artists screen never loads, and can’t get voice recognition to work… so there’s no way to select an artist/album without detaching the phone from Android Auto and using the android app directly, which isn’t safe while driving.

Forums are pretty much all support you can/will get. There is no other channel to submit report.
Plex employees are monitoring forums, some of them are faster than others. Also providing [logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201869908-log-files/ "logs") might help.

I’ve answered your 2 threads. Sometimes we just need a nudge.

You really didn’t answer either thread. You just asked questions that I answered, then you never responded again. Really frustrating.

they will be more helpful if you remain calm and polite, i know it is frustrating and it is easy to fire off a salvo or two online but it rarely makes anyone want to jump in a help.

I looked at your post, they are essentially asking you for more detail as they think it is a known bug. Put a log up there for them.

No, sorry, they don’t answer when you’re calm and polite. They also don’t answer if you’re rude. Pretty much, they don’t answer.

Every forum post I’ve ever read has zero feedback when a question is asked.

Sorry. I didn’t see your response. I’ve provided another response.

Edit - Next time, if you don’t get a response, don’t wait 6 weeks to ping me.

Not quite true. Sometime there is an official response and there is a greater chance of a response from polite, but firm, language. The main thing to get a response is that as much details and logs are included with the request.

However, even with a perfect request with details and log, it is still pretty much a crap shoot if you do or don’t get a good response.

One thing you can do is perform a ritual to summon the Plex Gods:

First brew up a classic potion:
To be prepared ahead of time:
Start with about a half gallon of non-purified and non-sanctified water (tap water will do) to place the ingredients in.
Then add:

> “Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
> Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
> Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,
> Lizard’s leg, and howlet’s wing,–
> For a charm of powerful trouble,
> Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.”

Boil the broth until it has the consistency of thick maple syrup.
(Do not worry you do not need to consume the broth.)

On the next dark of the moon at midnight build a large bonfire in a large open area away from all residences.
Strip naked and paint you body, particularly heavy on the genitals, with the broth use about half of the broth for this.
Then, before the clock strikes one as the fire reaches its peak, dance in a circle counter clockwise around the fire chanting, “Gods of Plex I summon thee.” Continue dancing for a minimum of ten minutes.
When you are finished dancing squat near the fire and watch it until there is nothing but embers left. Then, before the fire is all dead, pour the remaining broth on the ember and simultaneously yell VERY loud, “Gods of Plex I summon thee!”

If everything is done correctly there should be a sudden feeling of a presence and a deep chill.

The next time you access the Plex forums you may find some responses to many of your posts.

Plex is notoriously bad at communicating with their users.

I think that it´s a case of it is very expensive to run a support help desk, you need 5 or 6 guys full time to cover the hours but yes, it can be tricky when you have a genuine problem or bug, to find a way to communicate that to them.

In the past, I had a major problem with photo libraries not working at all and so did everyone else, I ended up finding all of the staff members on here and tagging them all in the post. They all got notified and came straight to it and it was handled really quickly.

I am not suggesting that we do that everytime we have a question but that sometimes, they just don´t see the posts asking for help, this forum is not the easiest to navigate.
