Hey there, I wonder wether or not its still necessary to transcode a movie with the new iOS experimental player. I got the latest beta build on all devices (running Nvidia shield as the server) but PMS still transcodes the movies before syncing them over to iOS. Shouldn’t it be possible to simply sync over the file like infuse does? This would be a HUGE improvement if you ask me… Thx! ---

I just tried syncing a movie to my phone. ‘Transcode’ took about 1 minute for a 2 hour 720p film and then a few mins to sync. Much quicker. ---

it still converts like normal here… takes about 30 mins to an hours to convert plus the time to sync ---

No, everything is on „highest“. I checked via Tautulli that nothing is transcoding on playback… I am using an iPhone 7 Plus here… ---

It’s also worth mentioning that the experimental player **doesn’t affect Sync** right now. That means, your media will still be transcoded to the same format in order to be compatible with the old player. ---
