1. verify that Plex server still has the privilege to access the local network. This is a system preference in MacOS. While you’re at it, check the same for the [app.plex.tv](http://app.plex.tv) website, and the Plex desktop app if you’re using that one. [Important note about the Plex Web app - Local Network Access](https://forums.plex.tv/t/important-note-about-the-plex-web-app-local-network-access/933264/1) 2. peruse the troubleshooting list in [https://support.plex.tv/articles/206225077-how-to-use-secure-server-connections/](https://support.plex.tv/articles/206225077-how-to-use-secure-server-connections/) 3. many Plex client apps now enforce the [new rules](https://www.plex.tv/blog/important-2025-plex-updates/) of requiring either a Plex Pass, or at least a Remote Watch Pass for streaming from a remote server. This **doesn’t only affect remote clients:** A server is considered “remote” if it is in a different network than the client. There are quite a few network configurations, where a server can end up in a different network than your local home network.
