Good day all. Trying to get my daughter off the abomination that is Youtube on her iPad I’ve found Netflix is the only kid friendly alternative with a usable interface for younger kids. Plex on the other hand is an overly complex abomination with small fiddly buttons (that even an adult struggles with) and hundreds of options everywhere that a kid doesn’t care for. So therefore I would like to request an automatic Kid-friendly GUI be applied on all platforms when a Managed Account is used and it automatically flips to that interface much like Netflix does or Youtube Kids. A nice to have option would be to ability to switch to it even when Managed Accounts aren’t in play. ---

You mean that you aren’t ok with your kid watching Fortnite videos, kissing “pranks” that are one inch away from being porn and Spider-Man and Elsa videos??? Of course I’m joking… I actually find that the Plex mobile interface is easy enough once you configure it for them but the web interface can be a little difficult for younger children. Maybe instead of a kids mode a “simple” mode that can be toggled for home users and friends would be a better idea? ---

You know I would have been perfectly okay with Youtube Kids app if only I could manage it remotely with my user account. Google really fails by not allowing you to register accounts for younger kids. Youtube Kids is generally not too bad that I’ve witnessed from a content perspective but it’s more the addiction to bloody Toy eggs videos and crap like that which gets to me. Can call it Kids mode or Simple mode…jeez I’m sure there would even be a use case for Disabled folk to make use of an easier more streamlined interface with less options and larger buttons. But for me the primary thing would be to have it default and automatically switch to that interface the way Netflix does when you select a Kids profile. Plex on the ATV is okay but then kids struggle with the remote again, which isn’t Plex’s fault of course but is a limiter. iPad is the most accessible device for a kid…but Plex falls short in that use case. ---

I’ve been thinking about this for a while and think it could be a big hit. My kid would watch YouTube for kids all day it’s so addictive. And YT knows it as I sign in with my adult account r so they Taylor content based on what he clicks and stays on the most. Big opening for Plex here I think. ---
