# Last.fm not scrobbling correctly?

It was working fine yesterday, now it’s not.
status.last.fm shows no current issues, anyone else seeing this behavior?

Got it figured out, just had to disconnect and reconnect last.fm with Plex, now it works.
Some good tools in the ticket i submitted to last.fm too, how to manually scrobble. Might be helpful for others here too!

Same problem here since last saturday.
Scorbbbling over Android seems to work. When using OpenPHT, Plex Web and/or PMP around 60-80% of the songs seems to scrobble.

For a test I played 6 songs:
All were srobbled except the third one.
Can’t find anything in the logs. All songs come back with:
DEBUG - MyPlex: Scobbled with result 202
edit:
Android also isn’t working properly. Same 6 songs and the fourth songs wasn’t scrobbled.
Seems to me like a problem in PMS or in the communication between PMS and last.fm.

Well, I suppose I’m glad it’s not just an issue with my setup. 😕

It seems like the issue is actually with Plex and its last update.
Is there a good, safe way to roll back the server version to see if that fixes things?

I actually just upgraded my server now, in hoping to resolve the issue. So I’m also leaning towards it not being them, or the update…
But I’m glad, I’m not the only one with the issue.

Bump, still an issue.
Almost certain it has to do with the most recent plex server release. i have no issues scrobbling via any other media player/tool.

I am thinking is has to do with remote access. Since the latest server update the remote access is randomly going offline and, within a few seconds/minutes it’s back online.

I am also having the same issue: With plex server 1.12.1.4885 scrobbling to last.fm no longer works for me in most of the cases. Reconnecting last.fm account did not solve this. I can provide logs ifthis is helpful. Please fix ASAP. Thanks!

Just installed PMS (Windows) version 1.12.2.4929 and still an issue so it seems (3 out of 5 songs Scrobbled so far)
Scrobbling and last.fm support was the reason for me use Plex not only for movies and series but also for music and to buy a Lifetime Plex Pass, so i’m hoping this issue will be fixed soon.

This bums me out, I installed that update late last night but haven’t listened to music yet. Was hoping it was fixed, even though the release notes said nothing about it. womp.
_Edit_: A few hours later and I’m in a place where I can play some tunes. I can also confirm this is still an issue even with that new server update. le sigh \

I’m using version 1.12.1.4885 on linux and started noticing the problem with this update. I don’t recall having a problem with the previous version (1.12.1.4871) but could be wrong. Seems random as some songs get scrobbled, most don’t.
Update: Installed the new version 1.12.2.4929 and no dice. It scrobbled two songs but not two other ones. Wondering if the scrobbler is racist since it refused to scrobble Miles Davis and Kanye West [(ducking for cover.) This is just a joke and I don’t mean to offend :-)].

I’m having trouble with Plex and scrobbling to last.fm consistently. Usually the first song or second don’t scrobble when I start to listen to something, but then the next song scrobbles. Nothing consistent though, every other song sometimes, or all but one or two in an album. Also using PlexAmp and that’s no different (shouldn’t be either, since it’s using Plex and the server side last.fm scrobbling.)
On Android I use Simple Last.fm Scrobbler with Google Music, and for over two years I’ve simply cached all my scrobbles and only manually scrobble with that app after listening. Those all go through, but real time scrobbling misses often.
Plex doesn’t offer caching, no control over how it works so … since I love scrobbling what I play, I won’t be using Plex if I want to scrobble my music. ☹
