Hej,
I have been running the 64-bit version of PMS since long on my DS412+ without any problems, including DSM 6.2 Update 2.
But, now it is not possible to access the server after I downloaded and updated PMS to latest Plex Pass version.
Installed fine, and DSM Package Center indicated that it is running.
But, opening PMS will only show the server running on my MacBook Pro, not the main Synology one.
I have also followed this instruction from trumpy81:
āStop Plex from running on the NAS, then open File Station and navigate to: Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server and delete plexmediaserver.pid (if it exists) and Preferences.xml.ā
My Synology PMS still isnāt availableā¦
Enclosed is the compressed log folder: Logs.zip (2.0 MB)
Hej,
Thanks for quick reply
LAN 2 is disabled since long on my NAS.
I canāt change Network interface to listen on since my NAS PSM isnāt availableā¦
Hej,
There is no cable connected to LAN 2.
I canāt remove LAN 2 from the configuration, not use blank as an address either. Instead, I changed it to DHCP and it got a āstupidā address:
Stopped and restarted PMS, still not possible to access.
When Open PMS it will use my DDNS (Synology), didnāt work.
So, as a final test I tried with the local IP - now it worked fine and my Synology PMS is visible.
This happened to me on my windows PC when going to the 1.13.5.5291 I had to remove it from my PC and go back to the previous version of 1.13.4.5271 fixed my problem right away!
respectfully, it is relevent! as it seems to be a larger problem with 1.13.5.5291 losing connection to the local server⦠doesnāt matter if its windows or Synology , looking at the original post it was exactly the same issue I have⦠This post came up when I was searching around for answers⦠but anyways sorry to put a bee in your bonnet!
I agree. Iāve been having major connectivity issues with the latest version 1.13.4.5291. 2 or 3 of my devices even when direct playing are getting transcoding and connection errors. Iāve been working on it for several hours today, so maybe stop living up to the turd reputation of a Mod trumpy81 and try helping to resolve the bigger picture issue here.
I am working with Trumpy and other Linux users (Synology uses Linux as its OS) to diagnose an issue with 1.13.5.5291. Specifically, the preference āServerBindInterfaceā is causing a disturbance in other operations which were not foreseen.
If you have versions 1.13.1 -> 1.13.4 available locally and are more comfortable running it in lieu of 1.13.5, please do so.
If you interested and willing to assisting with root cause analysis, please feel free to join in.
I would like to focus this thread strictly to Synology (having been so tagged by the OP)
I can also confirm, this 1.13.5.5291 F@#$@#%$ up the plex server BIG time. Just uninstall en manually install (on synology nas) the previous version 1.13.4.5271 and you should be fine again!!!
could you please provide a link for download? I am using a add-in card so I do not user eth 0-4 which I suspect is the root cause that server is not availableā¦
there is only WEB USERS DEVICES, it never show āServerā as it shouldā¦
Removed it numerous times.
Installed on volume 1
Using PlexMediaServer-1.13.5.5332-21ab172de-x86_64.spk and also the default one from package center without success.
Unit is a 1618+ with 10gb mellanox card
Got mine working again by singing out on the plex login page, also loging out of mine account. Then stoped the server. And deleted the file named preferences.xml in the main plex server media folder. Doing this will bring up the add this server page. Dont worry your whole library will remain intact. Then start the plex server again and open the plex website. Claim your server to your account and everything should me fine and working again. For me, uninstalling the plex app software on my synology NAS and reinstalling it with older or newest versions did not solve my problem. Singing out and deleting the preferences file and reclaiming my server did do the trick for me!! So happy again that it all works
