# Levarage the IMDB tag

Hi,
is there an option to
1.export the **imdb tag** (ttxxxxxxx) to the movie folder
2. make use of it when (re-)scanning a secition

Put the IMDb ID into a text file.
Store it beside the video file.
Name it with the exact same file name as the video file.
Change the file name extension from .txt to .nfo
You should use “one subfolder per movie” in file storage when doing this.

Any plugins, tools to use for the automatic export part.

**EDIT:**
I’ll check if the imdb tag is exported somehow and can be used…
If not I’ll write a smal script that export the tag from Plex DB and save the tag as txt file.

No, of course not. That’d overwrite the video file 😉
Just don’t forget to change .txt to .nfo when you’re done.

.ts.nfo would create a new file …😉
EDIT:
live time saver at least for me even if its strange to use a movie metadata management catalog over a movie catolog to store data outside the plex db…[https://www.tinymediamanager.org/](https://www.tinymediamanager.org/)
