Libraries being added again after updating NAS and Plex server

Hello, I’ve just updated my Synology DS220+ to the latest version and the PlexMediaServer as well. When I’ve started up the server again it’s asked me to add my music and movie libraries again, and so I’ve lost any edits/changes I made to everything and all playlists. Is there a way to get back everything I’ve done before? Some sort of backup I can import? I can see in plex web I have the SynologyNas in there twice, the old version as unavailable. I appreciate I have probably done something wrong in updating, or if not I’d hate to go through this every time there’s an update! I have googled and looked through the forums but not found an answer. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Edit - I read about restoring a database back up but assume that has now been overwritten?

Server Version#: 1.25.0.5246
Player Version#: 4.66.1

HOLD UP!

which version did you update from ?

DSM version?

I had DSM version 7 before, now it’s 7.0.1

Plex server wise I’m not certain, 1.24 something I think, is there a way to check?

Both hadn’t been updated since whatever the version was in August

Please can I check the process for backing up and restoring so I don’t make this same mistake again? And need 800 odd albums sonic analysis redoing, 400 odd albums genres updating etc…

If I go to my NAS, stop the Plex Media Server, then go to this filepath in File Station:
/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases

And copy all 6 files to somewhere else safe

Do the update to the NAS or Plex Media Server, whichever needs updating. Start the server again.

If there’s an issue and I’ve lost all my changes, then stop the server, remove the 6 files and add back in the original two DB files into the Databases folder, and start up the server again.

Is that correct? Is there anything else I need to do?

I can see there was a minor Plex Media Server update last night and now I’m worried about updating!

If you’re going to make a backup — Let HyperBackup do it.

I’ve tested HyperBackup for compatibility with Plex.

On DSM 7, because of the changes DSM 7 enforces, anything else is at your own risk.

Sure, so would I back up the entire Plex Media Server folder? And then if something goes wrong in an update, I simply replace the folder with the backed up version of that folder and it’s back to how it was before?
