# Link IMDB account option

I was thinking it would be nice to be able to link a IMDB account to the plex account so you could rate the movies/tv shows you watch right directly on the movie page. It currently shows the IMDB ratings on the page, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to add the option to rate it. 🙂

My guess is that would involve a fair amount more time / programming than you think… but the real stumbling block is the $$$ IMDB apparently wants for API access (I’ve heard it was in the tens of thousands of dollars). And in order to “tie in” with IMDB, an API call (or a bunch of them) is what’s needed.
IMO it’s probably a lot more realistic to use a second device (tablet, phone, etc) for such tasks, but I’ll wait to see what answer you receive.

that would be nice…or at least plex to remember what you have seen and already rated (saved online)… I moved the collection from servers to servers over the years and lost all of that meta data in the process…
