I have had issues with poor lip sync using plex to play recorded OTA channels on occasions. In every case, the recordings have had signal loss issues due to poor prorogation. Understandably this will cause issues, but where there is a real problem is that when there are acceptable signal quality in the recordings, the lip sync issues still persist.
In every case where this issue comes up there are a couple ways to still play a video without having to watch with poor lip sync. One way that works some of the time is to pause, manually move the timeline a bit and restart. Problem with this is as soon as an another signal issue happens, lip sync is back. The other way for me to fix this is to not you PLEX player at all, just open file manager to the video I am trying to watch and play it with an external player.
So, my question is, how can I substitute PLEX player’s codec to the codec that is used with my external player. Must be a way, but I thought I’d ask before messing with it.
