I always used “List” when clicking on a collection.
When having 89 episodes in 1 collection, you have to use list view to see all full names. And this is what I always did. Otherwise I would never have made collections for all this.
You can just believe me. I always always always used the list view because it’s or … was so practical when being inside a collection.
There is and it was always working before:
What you have there is a ‘tv show’ (german: Serie).
‘Collection’ is a reserved term in Plex. Don’t use it when talking about a tv show!
You can have a collection of movies or artists, or album, or even a collection tv shows. But what you cannot do is add a single episode (german: Folge) into a ‘collection’.
Are you using the ‘hosted’ web app? You should. https://app.plex.tv/desktop
Maybe try to tell us what you want to achieve?
You want to see a list of episodes in a tv show in list mode? That is certainly possible.
I give up … I tried to tell you the last hour or so.
I dont care about what a serie is, a movie or a picture.
It was working before the update. This is the only thing I want to tell you.
I can use the list view when looking at a particular collection.
Did you use the ‘hosted’ web app? It might be newer than what you have locally.
I only use the web app. I don’t want to install or download something extra.
It’s way easier for my wife and me using the web app on different machines.
I am not asking you to download anything.
Simply point your web browser to https://app.plex.tv/desktop and use this and compare it to your local version.
Clicking “List” in a Collection is working there as excpected and like before.
Then use this until your local web app is updated (which happens when you download a newer version of the server).
Side remark:
If I see that correctly, you are using an ‘Other Videos’-type library in connection with the ‘Collection’ feature to simulate a tv show library.
Why?
You wouldn’t have the issue, you’re battling with, if you simply used a genuine ‘tv show’-type of library.

What do you recommend for directory structure? I have nearly everything in german and french because we are “bilingue”.

TheTVDB is not working as excepted too., Many movies have english names after informations have been downloaded.
Your folder structure looks usable.
That is not necessarily what appears in the Plex user interface, though.

I will completely re-do my plex database this evening. I didn’t know I used it wrong (“Other Videos”-type).
Is it enought stopping the plex service, deleting the plexmediaserver directory on my disk and re-start plex?
Just remove the libraries within Plex.

Start small! Only add a few movies and series to your Plex library at first.
So it doesn’t take ages to spot errors and correct them.
I followed this german “tutorial” and now movie covers etc aren’t loading anymore.
What am I doing wrong?

My problem has been solved by using the correct type of videos BUT interessting for the dev team:
list view inside a collection when using other video type in 1.13.5.5291 still not working.
