A couple of items that would much improve the PLEX pass/server experience on my Android Shield TV are as follows.
Provide a means to allow me to select “Live TV” as the default path that the Plex apk opens when selecting PLEX from the Shield TV favorites menu.
Once a channel is selected, provide a simple channel + up and - down button for changing channels rather than forcing the viewer to exit the channel back to the guide and then browse up/down to another channel.
I suspect that once a +/- channel up down method is provided that changing channels will be really slow, speed it up, don’t buffer the video until it’s already being displayed on screen. I’ve tested my Haupauge Tuner with multiple vendors TV apks on the Shied TV platform, PLEX TV requires about 10 seconds to lock on channel, all other vendors apk’s are locked within 1 or 2 seconds.
When PLEX Live TV is up and running, a channel is displayed, when the Shield is turned off, and then back on again the same channel should already be running again at power on. In today’s environment the last Live TV channel is displayed and paused, and the program metadat for that channel is now stale. If I exit the channel back to the grid, the grid information may also be stale depending upon how much time elapsed between power off/on.
Round robbin the TV grid guide, when you get to the end of the list (highest channel number) it should continue to rollover and display the lowest channel number next.
