# Live tv from xteve defaults to transcode

live tv from xteve defaults to transcode yet if i change the quality to original it directs play, is this working as design? also on that note, i read a little while back that plex was working on clients adapting to better direct play setting than the current defaults one (specially remote streaming which ios defaulted to 720p), i can find that post, is there an option for clients to adhere to admin desired settings?
