I use Plex for Live TV quite a bit with Silicon Dust HDFX-4K (a quad tuner). I do get flickers and glitches at times when reception is having issues. Today I had LiveTV on and playing and it got sporadic - signal went bad and no sound or video. I tried other channels. Every channel I try, I get the black screen with the spinning “Wait” indicator. When I use Silicon Dust’s own program. HDHomeRun, my live TV stream comes right up. Same with Channels. So I can get the LiveTV stream from the tuner with two programs, but can’t get it with Plex, on TV, or in the web interface.
The tuner status, according to Plex, is 4 red dots. I can find nothing on the Plex web page about setting up Live TV that specifies how to read the status info. I would think 4 of something would be good, but it’s red, so I don’t know. (And, as I mentioned, two other programs have no problem at all.)
I think it’s important to point out this did not happen after a reboot or when I ran Plex on AppleTV for the first time in a day or anything like that. This happened WHILE using Plex and there seemed to be no event or interruption I could see. Just, suddenly, it won’t receive a TV stream.
