# local metadata (xml format)

local metadata (xml format)
Hi Guys,  
  
I am still getting to grips with Plex and working my way through qwerks I have found.  
  
My first impressions are positive and I love the stability and professional appearance Plex offers. One thing I would be very keen to crack (if it is indeed possible) is using my own metadata to populate the Plex library.  
  
I know there's an option to use local artwork (folder.jpg/background.jpg) which is great but my current collection 1000+ movies uses movies.xml metadata.  
  
Are you guys able to advise if there's a way in which I can incorporate this, I use an excellent metadata tool (metabrowser) to manage my collection so am keen to continue with it.  
  
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You could maybe [use this code](http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/35664-episode-title-from-file-name/page __p__ 251712). Currently it just uses filenames, but it could be adapted to use XML information. I guess the best solution would be a new metadata agent.
