Losing cover art during library scan

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: various (WebOS, Roku, PlexWeb

I’ve had this problem across a few server releases, hope someone can help. I have 2 movie libraries, one for Blu Ray and DVDs, another for 4K content. There are a lot of duplicate titles between the two libraries (e.g., “Arrival” is in both libraries, the 1080p in one, the 4K in the other).

I usually change the cover art for the 4K rip to a different version (entering the URL for the alternate one and uploading) to make it visually obvious it’s the 4K version.

I have also excluded the 4K library from the dashboard, just saying to be complete.

I’ve had many occasions that, after changing the artwork on the 4K library files, and scanning the 4K library, the other library loses the artwork for the same titles. More accurately, the artwork is there, but none of the items are selected - and they no longer show in that library on the clients. I have to go back to the BR/DVD library and reselect the cover art for the ones that got deselected.

They’ll stay separate and correct until I add a new 4K disk, scan and set cover art. But often after that, I have to go back and fix the other library.

Since these are separate libraries I wouldn’t think one would affect the other, but PMS seems to get confused about the matching titles in different libraries.

Does this issue ring any bells with anyone? Is there a solution or workaround? I’d like to keep the 4K separate. Thanks in advance.

No replies… I’m pretty convinced this is a server bug. How do you report bugs for investigation?
