Major Problems with Plex

Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
Player Version#: All

Hi,

I did an upgrade of Plex yesterday and since have had nothing but issues with Plex.

Immediately following the upgrade it ran through a new server install and created a new Media Server with the same name as the previous server. I then had to go through all me users and remove and add the new server

I then had problems with remote access (again) and had to manually set a port to get it to work.

Now on my Samsung TV I am unable to update the Watched status of any shows.

On all my devices I now have 2 media servers showing both with the same name but one as Unavailable.

For a product have relied on and supported financially for some time the new release seem to have a significant reduction in build quality and testing.

How can I get my installation back on in a stable situation?

Kind Regards

Philip Sinclair

A new server instance should only be created if the Preferences.xml is not found or not accessible or if the path to it is changed.

plex.tv record shows

I wonder if we have an issue with the update being done without stopping the service first. I have seen one example of corrupt install whereby previous version was not completely replaced by the new version and was running in parallel with the new version
