# Match does not work for new file

I have added some new movies to my server but the Match function will not recognize. I have tried with title + release date. I have tried using the imdb address but no match found. These are main stream movies that should be an easy match. How can I fix this ?

Thanks for the info.

Question: What path is added to the library? It should be `H:\Animation`. Adding the root folder of a drive, ex: `H:\`, is not recommended, as doing so can cause problems with Plex.

Suggestions:

1. Rename and re-organize the movie, adding the release year and placing it in its own folder.
2. Add the IMDB/TMDB ID to the folder and file name (optional).
3. Do the same for Despicable Me 2 and 3 if you have those in your library.
4. [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) the movie after renaming/reorganizing (instead of just re-scanning the library).

```auto
H:\Animation <-- folder added to movie library
...\Despicable Me (2010) {imdb-tt1323594} <-- curly braces for ID
......\Despicable Me (2010) {imdb-tt1323594}.mkv

```

- Adding the year helps Plex recognize the movie, especially when there are sequels.
- Adding the IMDB/TMDB ID tells Plex exactly which movie to match.
- The [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) removes incorrect matching information from the Plex server’s database.

Thanks for the direction. I have never encountered this before. I usually just move the file into the folder and it uploads correctly. I have had to “fix match” a few times. This is also happening with non sequels. Do you know if this is new ? Or just an update

**Always** add the year.

If you follow Plex naming & organization, it works the vast majority of the time. The further you stray, the greater the chance of running into problems.
