Server Version#: 4.125.1 Player Version#: 1.40.1.8227 Hi all, I’m having trouble getting Plex to recognize a folder of music added to my library. The folder is organized buy the band name, then the album name, then the song titles all in MP3 format. When I add it to the correct folder, I tell the server to scan and it just doesn’t find the newly added music. I’ve downloaded the logs from the server, but what log should have the error? ---

Thank you, but it didn’t help. The folders are named as all the others are in the library and is in a subfolder next to all other music folders. All folder and file names are standard and do not include excluded words. ---

On Linux, there is the issue of access permissions, which are most often the cause for non-recognized media files. You might want to take a look at [Linux Tips](https://forums.plex.tv/t/linux-tips/276247/1) Particularly if you are relatively new to using Linux. Peruse all points which have to do with “mounting” and “permissions”. ---

Thanks Otto… I reviewed the article points but I’m not seeing any issues with the folder I’m adding. The folder permission are the same as every other folder in the same directory. All music is kept in the same folder, broken down by artist name, then album title. I know the share is mounted correctly, because if it wasn’t all the music files would be inaccessible. ---

Keep in mind this isn’t about YOU having permission to see the files but the system account used to run your Plex Media Server. Unless you overrode the default settings, a Plex Media Server on Linux will run as user `plex`. ---

It’s one folder that doesn’t appear… All the other show and work correctly. I’ll check on the local metadata option. ---
