# Merge Multi Disc Albums

I do not understand how to merge multi play discs in one album. the folder structure is oke but plex sees them as seperate cd’s:

Is Plex configured to prefer local metadata?

- If so, are the files tagged as shown in the [How-To article](https://forums.plex.tv/t/howto-configure-plex-to-use-embedded-metadata-music/153689)?
- If not, make sure the file names are structured so Plex can understand them.

Check the embedded metadata in the files. Compare the content of the Album Title meta tags. They must be identical. The disc number must not be mentioned in it. There is a separate meta tag for the disc number.
