# Metadata won't update for TV shows

This problem started yesterday, I think. I wasn’t having any issues when I last did an update last week, but now when I added two new shows, it loads the cover art and then won’t pull any information for the episodes themselves.
Things I’ve already checked:
– My router has ipv6 disabled
– I did the [plex dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064), deleting the shows, emptying the trash, cleaning up the bundles, deleting the thetv cache, readding the shows, same problem.
– It’s fine with other media. (At least, movies are working fine.)
I am not sure what else to do?

I’ve got the same problem, same errors in the log as you posted. But I think the problem is with thetvdb - I’ve also had server errors when using filebot looking up thetvdb and checking the forums there are others with connection issues.
Unfortunately there hasn’t been any response as yet.
No issues with other agents, adding movies for example so hopefully just a temporary thetvdb issue.

You have the same error that’s been plaguing me for a few days now, which is to say lots of HTTP Error 522 entries in the com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb.log whenever the agent attempts to connect with [tvdb2.plex.tv](http://tvdb2.plex.tv)
If you visit that site in a browser there’s the above CloudFlare error. I’ve tried this on the local PC and at work with the same results. Typically, I upgraded my server hardware last week and decided on a clean install: I have since had no TV metadata across the entire library. Movies are OK though.
Solution? Afraid I don’t know. I’ve kept up to date with the Plex preview installs but nothing has changed.

Same on my side. I can not retrieve information from TheTVDB while it works with Kodi.

Seems like this is a common issue. Only sprouted up within the last 24 hours or so.
Would’ve done a new post had I not seen this one.
I have the same issue, where tv metadata doesn’t want to download…worse yet, when I refreshed the metadata of my tv library, it got rid of a good number of alternate series posters and the like…
Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Actually for me the Kodi scraper flags an error when contacting TheTVDB. Something fairly fundamental is up.

I’m getting the same issue here, although TheTVDB website is accessible, the URL [tvdb2.plex.tv](http://tvdb2.plex.tv) seems inaccessible, my logs keep showing:
`2018-03-18 12:03:59,267 (de4) : ERROR (networking:219) - Error opening URL 'https://tvdb2.plex.tv/series/248835/images/query?keyType=series&lang=en'`
Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon!

Thanks for posting this as I am having the same issue today. All 3 shows I loaded today are downloading metadata for the series itself (series description, etc), some are downloading the cover art for each season, but episode scans have been very hit and miss, with success on only 1-2 episodes per season at the most.
Will sit tight I guess.

I have the same issue.
Have you checked your IPV6 connection ?

Personnally, it seems ok, not enabled, but no Metadat TV Show updated this week end.

Same issue on my end Ive ran the [Plex dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064), opened all plex related files inbound/outbound to allow in firewall, what is most strange is that some episodes load, others do not, after multiple hours, one of the unloaded episodes loads metadata while the majority have not.

Still getting the same here for TV media scans. Occasionally the odd title will populate, but most don’t.

Glad to see I’m not alone. I have danced with Plex several times too many thinking it was on my end. I just put in a new drive and figured it was related.
I will wait for TVDB to fix their end.
Edit: It is odd that Filebot who I use TVDB to pull title, etc to rename TV shows is still working fine.
