# Migrate server data from Windows to Synology

Server Origin: Windows 10; Server Version#: 1.29.1.6316  
Server destination: NAS Synology Server Version#: 1.29.1.6316  
Player Version#:

Hello. I come to you because I cannot migrate the Metadata generated over the years on my original Plex server to a new Plex server that I am starting up.

I tried taking the //Appdata/local/PlexMediaServer/Metadata directory from my original server to the new server but it didn’t work. I still had the data after the first update…

I also tried taking the //Appdata/local/PlexMediaServer/Media directory from my original server to the new server but that didn’t help.

I can’t take the whole //Appdata/local/PlexMediaServer/ directory to put it in the new server because my original server is on Windows 10 and my new server is on a Synology NAS…

In short, what are the directories to transfer from my original server (under Windows) to my new server (Synology) to migrate my Metadata that I have patiently refined over time…
