# Migrating server from Ubuntu to Shield

I’ve seen various posts on moving servers between operating systems but I’ve not found anything on this specific move.

Will be moving from Ubuntu to shield with all of the media files on another server.

The main thing I’m interested in is the watched/unwatched status.

Any tips on how to do it. Thanks

- Install PMS on the Shield, don’t need to setup libraries, just finish the setup wizard
- choose to move the Plex data folder to a accessible storage location
- copy the data from the old server to this new location, overwriting the files

Thanks, I’ll try and see how it goes.

On my ubuntu server the library locations are mapped using fstab whereas so far as I can see on the Shield it’s using the direct Samba share. Will I need to set the library locations again after I’ve copied it over.
