As a DJ I have a ton of new music that I listen to but I don’t necessarily want to keep around. My process for this is to have two music libraries. One for “New Music” and one that is basically my entire collection of music. It would be great if after I listen to music and rate it in one library, be able to move it or copy it to the other library through the Plex apps themselves. Right now I have to use an external program with a network share to be able to do this process. I’m guessing that others might want to be able to move or copy music between libraries as well for other reasons such as different sharing for libraries or different agent configurations.

That might be more complicated then it looks. I mean, from what I’ve seen on these forums, the delete feature has many issues. To add file/folder management too. I would hate to be in charge of that one, lol.

A request for the same feature exists, and it has now gathered more votes.

> Yes, there is a [How To](https://forums.plex.tv/t/howto-plex-database-modification-moving-media-the-right-wrong-way/126701) and even a [Support Article](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201154537-move-media-content-to-a-new-location/) but both don’t always work (especially keeping edited metadata) - or require many manual steps. Judging from the years of support requests/questions about this topic, there’s enough interest to warrant a renewed look at this. Can’t this be added to the User Interface to make it easier? Pretty please? It will be nice to finally get a feature that makes it easier to manage libraries for a change!

Therefore this one is closed, to prevent spreading the votes across several threads, even though they vote for the same (or at least very similar thing).

Votes are given back to the users who voted on this request. Please think of re-voting in the other thread if you still want it.
