Movie keeps "analyzing" and won't play

Player Version#: I’m not sure how to find this… but I’m having the issue through Plex in a browser or on my Roku.

Hi all,

I’ve been getting my feet wet with Plex and have been pretty successful so far. I’m ripping DVDs and Blue Rays with MakeMKV and transcoding them with Handbrake so my DS 218 can play the movies.

However, I’m having trouble with random movies continually “analyzing”. It runs the CPU up to 30-40% when it would otherwise be at 0-2% while idling. The analyzing icon blinks on the picture of the movie in the Plex menu every couple of seconds, and the movie won’t actually play. See attached.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Permissions or just bad/corrupt file?

Have you tried playing in plex web or Vlc or other client or app?

Kind of hard to help without all the details and logs.

I didn’t even think to try playing the files in VLC. Good idea.

I tried it and they won’t even work there, while other files in the same format play just fine. I suppose that’s good news. I’ll try to re-rip and transcode them again. Thanks!
