Movie not found in directory by Plex for Library

Server Version#: 1.16.0.1364-da192ff7
Player Version#: 6.1.0.3

I added a movie file into my Movies directory and used “Scan Library Files” to add it to my library. It did not add it to the library. I attempted multiple times via the player and also using the server with no luck. I also used “Refresh all Metadata” and also “Analyze” without any results. The movie filename is “Whos Minding Mint”.
I have 1117 movies currently in that library and thought it might be a limitation dealing with the number of movies. I had all of them under a single directory and so I created some sub-directories and moved some movies into those sub-directories and added them back into the library. Still no luck in adding the movie. I also copied the file into another library directory and it also could not be found. That library only has about 120 movies. The file file permissions are for everything for everybody.
Did I hit some limit for total entries somewhere or is the filename an issue?

There are no limits.

  • You’re running an old version of PMS. I’d suggest updating to the current.
  • What client are you using? 6.1.0.3 doesn’t ring a bell.

If a file isn’t being found, it’s possible that it was found but being combined with another movie. Check using the filter for “duplicates”.

Try this method. Look in PLEX as set your view to Folders. Then navigate to the folder that holds that movie and see what it thinks it is.
Set your view to show duplicates to see if it may have been folded into something else.

I had the same problem and I worked round it by setting up a new movie folder for it to scan

Found it right away

I have found the solution that I posted in another post that at the time, I thought was unrelated. Now I found out that they are one in the same. See my other post, since the same answer is not allowed in two posts. Keep getting “Your changes could not be saved.”
