I am new the plex platform. I wanted to try and support renting a movie not through the major apps. I’ve was able to rent the movie (rented through the browser to hopefully help plex avoid the apple tax). When I went to play it on my Apple TV 4K, the movie showed up but when I press watch now/confirm, it showed loading spinner for 5 seconds. Then Plex went to a screen where it showed the move with a refresh icon as if I wanted to watch it again.
I logged out of my plex account and restarted my Apple TV but same behavior. I tried the iOS plex app and similar behavior (tried killing the app and trying again) and when I tried the web app, I did get an error message that says “An error occurred trying to play “It Was Just an Accident”.cError code: s3016 (Media)”
Unfortunately Plex has started the rental countdown timer. I was hoping to find an actual company support since I just paid $10 for a rental that now expires in 47 hours but all I see is this forum. This has not been a good first impression.
